Michigan!

The second weekend in June all four of us made our way to Michigan.  This August is Kyle's grandma's 80th Birthday and a cousin was getting married in June, so they decided to celebrate the birthday while everyone was in town for the wedding.  We had a lot of fun with the whole Leep family.  It was the first time we have been to Michigan with either of the girls and our first plane trip as a family of 4.

The plane trips were, well, interesting . . .  Both girls had a hard time sleeping, regardless of the fact that it was either nap time or bed time during all flights.

Brooklyn really wanted to look out the window

Kyle's family lives about 10 minutes from Gunn Lake and one of the family members rented out a cabin for the weekend, so we spent quite a bit of time out at the lake, and the girls loved it.  Katelyn also enjoyed playing with her 2nd cousin Anika (who she called 'Danica').  They were super cute together.

It was my first time really having a chance to see all of the Leep's in one place and we had a great time in Michigan.

Palm Springs

Well it has been a couple of weeks since my last post.  I hope to make up for that over the next few days.  We have been SUPER busy during that time.  A trip to Palm Springs, a trip to Michigan, running 'The Amazing Race' at church, and more.

The first weekend in June, Kyle's work had their annual Palm Springs trip.  It is their 'Post-Busy-Season Event' and families are invited.  There was a dinner on Saturday night, but otherwise, we were on our own.   Let's just say that it was HOT.  The high for Friday was 110 and 103 on Saturday and Sunday.  We hung out at the pool for a while on Friday and Saturday afternoons, which Katelyn loved, but Brooklyn wasn't too big of a fan of it as she would rather be napping in bed.

On Saturday morning, we went to 'The Living Desert', a garden and zoo with desert animals.  We were hoping to feed the giraffes, but they weren't interested in being fed that morning.  It was a great zoo, but it was so hot that we were done after a couple of hours.

Katelyn enjoyed the animals and kept wanting to see more.

I guess I never brought the camera down to the pool.

Tomorrow I should be posting about our trip to Michigan.
