As I mentioned in the Tahoe post, Kyle's parents came for a visit and
watched the girls while we were in Tahoe. We were able to get in a
couple of day trips with them before and after our trip. Before we went
to Tahoe, we took them to downtown LA to see Olvera Street. We had
some really good Mexican food and enjoyed the different culture. Then
we took a drive to Manhattan Beach where we took a walk on the pier. At
the end of the pier, they have a small aquarium, which was perfect for
Katelyn. She was able to touch the starfish! So exciting for her. She
did it over and over again and liked watching the small sharks swim
around.
The day after we returned from Tahoe, we drove up to Lake Arrowhead for a delicious breakfast at the Belgian Wafle House. Both Kyle & his dad got waffles with ice cream. I love ice cream, but for breakfast? No thanks. We walked around some of the shops and Katelyn had some fun feeding the ducks and playing at the park. Kyle found a nature trail that was just a few miles away. Katelyn was able to walk by herself on the trail for the first time. She loved running ahead of us and showing us different things. I see a repeat of this trip in the future.
